Misery and Pain

By Siwale Chabala

0 for 6 and counting. The season has started off worse than expected. Not only are the Nets winless, but they are also a battered and wounded team. Devin Harris is out a few more games with a pulled groin, Yi Jianlian has an MCL sprain which will keep him out indefinitely and Chris Douglas-Roberts missed last night's game with flu like symptoms. New Jersey made this game more competitve than their previous game as they had the lead going into the 4th quarter but the injuries caught up with them towards the end. The Philadelphia 76ixers made their run with young stars Andre Iguodala and Louis Williams. Iguodala had 16 points, Williams led the team with 18 points and sharp shooter Jason Kapono dropped 14 off the bench. New Jersey was led by Brooke Lopez who scored 22 points, 11 rebounds. Trenton Hassell surprised everybody with 17 points and 12 rebounds and Rafer Alston chipped in 14 points. It doesn't get any better for the Nets as they will be taking on the Boston Celtics tonight, who will be prepared after losing to the Phoenix Suns, 110-103. It might get ugly saturday night at the IZOD Center.
