The Ghost of Christmas Present

By Siwale Chabala

The say forget the past and don't look ahead towards the future but if you are a New Jersey Nets fan, what are you supposed to do???? The Nets lost to the Houston Rockets at the IZOD Center 98-93. New Jersey fought hard until the end but the Rockets were too tough. Led by the toughest guy in the NBA, Carl Landry, who last year got shot in the leg and then came back for the playoffs, also lost all his front teeth earlier this year on Dirk Nowitzki's elbow and still came back the next game. Landry had 26 points and 9 rebounds. Treva Ariza has been a surprise this year almost recorded a triple double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. The Nets were led by Devin Harris with 19 points while Yi Jianlian and Broke Lopez each had 17 points. New Jersey has lost 9 straight games and hope to end the streak against the young and talented Oklahoma City Thunder, Goodluck.

Terrence Williams had a couple spectacular dunks including jumping off one foot for a windmill jam. This guy deserves more playing time, Kiki and a ticket to the allstar-weekend slam dunk contest.

Aaron Brooks had a beautiful drive towards the baseline and jumped into Yi Jianlian's body, shifting the body and the ball for a big lay-up which took the lead late in the game.

The New jersey Nets. Not just for that 2-28 record but getting out-rebounded by a Houston Team that's way smaller than them.

The Houston Rockets sending Tracy Mcgrady home. Why don't you trade this guy already.

Merry Christmas to all but big disappointment by the NBA putting up 6 NBA games on Christmas Day. The oversaturating the product, when I was growing up, it was either 2 or 3. Leave it to 3 games NBA and those games were boring to watch.
